iLight @ Marina Bay

A night with my best friends, Shulin and Susan. Had Thai Mookata first, and then headed to Marina Bay for this iLight festival. It was not as fun as many said it was, just so-so. Lights were beautiful, the way they're put up. :) But not much stuff to enjoy, besides Uncle Ringo...Gastrobeats, and a......Silent Party - basically a disco but with headphones on. (umm..)

We all chilled at the bay for the whole night and enjoyed the Sg view... Pretty chilly too. All's good!
Except when we missed the last train......and luckily there's grab hitch available for me at that point in time. *smiles sheepishly*

Aussie

Me and my family went to Australia for a short getaway from our hectic home. Basically, we landed on Melbourne first, and then had an hour and a half flight to an island called Tasmania. And guess what... Tasmania blew me away. Metaphorically and sort of physically... hahaha. Tasmania was super windy, and COLD. The family regretted not buying good jackets. I mean, seriously though, that place was literally changing seasons all day long. My brother in law told me that before the change of seasons (Aus is going to have summer soon), we will experience rain. And it did. It rained for a couple of times, but with the cold wind blowing too, we would just snuggle in our Airbnb apartments. Speaking of apartments, we had like 5 different apartments from place to place. Really cozy! However, there was one that's kind of shady, the owner was, too. But it's okay, it was just one night. And that night though, there was a group of another asians, I think they were from Hong Kong, cuz they spoke Cantonese...and they said they booked our place too..even weirder, it was the same owner as well! Luckily we got here first...if not...we'd have to find another apartment in the cold, cold night. The best apartment was the last one, 2 nights yassss, in Melbourne. My own room was lit. Haha. It was amazing, no lie. Gosh, writing this made me miss Aussie so much!

Also, we visited many parks and reserves in Tasmania. And again, it blew me off. I can't stop saying that. Haha! We visited popular tourist areas like Mt. Wellington, yes and that....IT BLEW ME OFF. HAHAHAHA REALLY BLEW ME OFF!!!! We got to the summit of that mountain, the view was freaking breathtaking, but I can't breathe easily....the wind was so strong! We got pictures taken, but my iphone kept dying due to the very cold temperature. We too visited Freycinet National Park. That was when we bought a $55 Wombat toy, just cause my dad likes it. Hahaha! But that toy accompanied me every night since then..so.......... :P

The last day in Tasmania...we spent it by spending money. YES, SHOPPING TIME, at Salamanca Market. People were lively, everything was. And ya, the people in Australia...so so so friendly, and kind, and bubbly! Although I mistook the amount of money I had to pay for the food in a cafe, $13, but I thought the cashier said $30. Sorry lady. Hahahaha!

Not to forget, the animals.. there were countless of em! Their wallabies..man, they're so friendly and cute! But in Tasmania, who can forget about their Tasmanian Devil!!

Last but not least in the island, we hunt and literally chased for the southern lights. We sort of saw it, but looked like we didn't. I don't know whether they're sourthern lights or not. I saw a little greenish flowy sky sorta thing, gosh i dont know how to describe, but they looked like clouds as well. So I really doubt it. Nonetheless, there was a galaxy of stars! Astronomical ones. Beautiful. Like the milky way, which they have the white white flowy thing surrounding the stars? Yeah...really beautiful. Wanted to capture them on my phone, but to no avail, all I could capture was the color black. So that point of time, I just appreciate it with my eyes, and also hoping my eyes could do the capture. xD

We returned to Melbourne for the last 3 days in Aussie, and we shopped, ate, a lot, and just walked around the city. It was all good. Nothing much of a difference from Singapore too, just a city, but with fresh air, and clear blue skies. And the people there were not as agitated as the people here in Singapore...

By the way, the Chinese food there was a no-no. Haha, overall the food there was fine, but just not Chinese...

And I even sent a mail to myself from Australia, and it took one week to come! Hahaha I felt so....wow. Much misses already. Zzzz

I'm not going to upload all my pictures taken, because there's a ton of em. Too many to be uploaded. Haha, just going to share a few here, for memories, for when I look back to my blog in the next 10 years.

Just to end off now, Australia was amazing. Melbourne and Tasmania! Would love to go there again. Really.. :)

The zookeeper purposely fed this camel near me and this cute one eventually sorta "hug" me. Ah, cute! I also learned that there are too many camels in Australia, just too many..

New beginning

Right, I went on a hiatus after the second half of year 2016 until now.

Because I've got to focus on my O levels, which I didn't focused as much as N levels time, but I still got a desired result! Hold on, you may think that, "What? So you planned to focus on your exams but not as much as last previous years, and yet you managed to sustain an even better result?"

Yes, that's absolutely right. I am not boasting or whatnot, but that was really true.

Of course, I did study hard, doing and completing the heavy assignments every single day and night, doing personal notes and catching up on subjects I'd missed while I'm sick. However, I didn't force myself to memorise everything like I used to previously. Up to now, I finally realised that hard work really do pay off, and that all you need to do is to be consistent. Do not ever force yourself to do what you can't. Plan everything equally and you can definitely do everything right on schedule.

I spent most of my time not stressing myself over everything in 2016, and to laugh out loud every now and then. I loved 2016 and it was an awesome year for me, despite some little situations (but it's all well now).

I've never felt so joyful upon receiving my O level results, definitely was in high spirits!

However, I'm so so so gonna miss my best friends in school & the ones who stayed and supported each other in sec 5.

Marshall's

Yay! I've wanted a headphone since this year because of all the constant good music comin' through, so why not? I've been searching for good stuff online and I came across a 5 bucks normal headphone. I was thinking whether should I get it, or not, since it's THAT cheap and a normal headphone will do, for now. *smiles sheepishly*
I just shook my head and wanting to just shrug it off for awhile now, not until when my fam and I went out for dinner at the nearby shopping mall....... I wanted a headphone.
I was hesitating.. I just can't finalize my answer, for god knows why.
I asked my mom instead, and she NOT-HESITATE-LY dragged me to a shop where they sell electronics, along with my dad. I was thinking again, (okay yes I do think a lot, realising it now..) to whether or not, get one and that's that. I thought again, what did I do to deserve this? Headphones do cost a lot, and sure-do to listen good music, with good brands of headphones...right? *laughs sheepishly again*
We spent an hour or so in the shop, deciding....and then the Marshall one caught my eye...BUT NOT THE PRICE THOUGH. Whoever says $170 is okay, please get your luggage full of helium and jump off the cliff. Joking! Well, always, to me it does count, but not to my mom and dad. Good stuff with good reliable price...yes.

No more thinking; my mom bought this for me.

The end.

Thank you!

Bliss

This was our first dinner and the first time, the fam made wonders at my sister's crib kitchen. :)

Ps, the dishes were from Morocco.

We even used the oven for the chicken wings and potatoes, YUMS, and daddy made his very own usual fried prawns (on Father's Day too), ending perfectly with 3 good bowls of melon soup!

Oh, what a memorable one!

Pulau Ubin 🚴 and Geylang Bazaar

Went to a short getaway to Pulau Ubin with my best friends! Never regret anything, but just the constant, annoying mosquito bites, I had 38 of them on both my legs and arms. -_-
Omg, we were sitting on a bumboat, halfway arriving to Pulau Ubin, and oh dear the boat driver was...WEIRD. This cargo ship is going to cross our path, and this driver uncle still decided to increase it's speed and crossed over this cargo ship! It was super near, and I thought we're going to crash. Not only me was freaking out, the other passengers too! Take a chill pill, uncle...

Just a cute little flower I noticed.

Presenting you my two crazy best friends, Shulin (left) and Susan (right). *rolls eyes*

Posing for the picture while on bicycle break. Ps, riding at Pulau Ubin was very very very tiring..

Just discovering.

Came across a muddy beach, and thanks to my sandals, mud's all covered on my feet right after this picture was taken.
PS: THE MOSQUITO BITES WERE NO JOKE.

After touring the whole island, we realised we still had time and went to explore Geylang's Bazaar!

The airport.

Went to the airport to fetch my dear sis & bro in law who just came back from London! Am really happy that they enjoyed there and even more grateful they were back safely. Apart from that, it's been a long time since I've went to the airport. With that, we went to the viewing mall where we could pleasantly view the flights taking off. It was a peaceful view and that formed a train of thoughts in me. I believe that most of us are working way too hard, sometimes we indeed do need a break for a short while perhaps. Personally, I felt that travelling is a blissful thing to do in life, and what could be better than having a short getaway from all the chaotic work we have here? Travelling could be both boon and bane, which technically means life. Life is short, and at the same period I came across this quote "what if today is the last day of your life?"

This made me feel that life is like a plane taking off. After the journey begins, we will encounter all sorts of misfortune or obstacles, but the plane will not stop unless you want to die...right? So let this plane of yours be the last day of your life - you'll only be able to take this plane for once and you're done. What could you do with this last plane? Travel with it, take chances of doing good things in life, try your best to fulfill the things you want and love the ones who loves you.

I think i am a wise man in my past life hahaha
Stay happy! Count your blessings ðŸ’–
